I am shocked to find out that nobody at the Federal Reserve is keeping track of anything.” The above quote is by Bob Dylan. After reading an interesting article on the NYTimes site and I want to share the quote and the story with you. I am a firm believer that our government, from the local level to the the Federal fails to understand us. By it very nature a government will always be in opposition to it’s people, but our Constitution allows us, the people to do something about it. That something is call change. In fact it is our duty to do so as free people. Here is the link: http://tinyurl.com/cv8×24 Re/Max Oceanside, the pro’s at charging high commission to market your home have moved from the two ocean side locations to a massive new building inland on SR-100. So, can they still be Re/Max Oceanside? I mean really, Rusie why the move? This is the same group of people that developed the Polo Club on Jon Anderson. So I guess it really does not matter if a name is accurate or not. After all, is there a polo club in Flagler Beach? This is more on the same mentality that believes image over substance. How did they get away with a sign that was a violation on city ordinance? What is it about this city and signs. Saboe’s is one of the guys that can smile in you face while he picks your pocket. Develop he will and believe me he care more about the money than the land. Money is what moves this guy. In my opinion here is how he works: He bills his agent for toilet paper and anything else, then take a good chunk of the commission if you sale a house until your account is paid up. Much like the way migrant farmers are sold tobacco and liquor to keep them owing the company boss, Rusie keeps his agents paying for the improvement on his real property. In my opinion of course, I am sure he is a good man. But is Oceanside really ocean side any more?
Anyhoot, I am glad they have moved. In fact I wish all real estate office where on the inland side of Flagler Beach.
![]() Is this sign too BIG? Hey is that a big sign or what? Now first, I love the Dollar General just like you do and I do not want to see them leave. But what about that sign? Is it Huge or what? I think we can all thank the “Gods of the Sea” for the deal with the property owner on building improvements for a sign size variance. What do you think, about 300 sq ft too big. When I am driving over the bridge it looks like I am coming into The City of Dollar General Beach. That sign is so big. Of course this is just my opinion, but would you have loved to have been a fly on the wall when that back room deal was struck – stroke me, stroke me… And what about the timing of the Premier of “The Sign” – the day after the election. Wow, you have to love the drama from our commissioners. Especially Mr. Vath. This guy flips more than a fish on the pier… oh… wait I forgot, the Pier is closed due to deferred maintance. Well, when you are as busy as Mr. Vath and you have to choose where to put your attention – your pocket or the public… it can easily be understood why our Pier is closed due to deferred maintance.
What can I say? They’re better than bad TV. They guy and dolls on the Flagler Beach Commissioner have little clue to how silly and down right contemptuous they are for the Marjory of the human and non-human being in Flagler Beach. My dog has better sense. They are ignoramuses – Ignorare – they do not know or for that matter do they take no notice of what the say and do. They believe that they were not elected to service the good, but pursue a selfish interest for the few.
Yes we have a mayor here, she just got re-elected for a three year term. She was no my choice and I can’t believe that the people of Flagler Beach refuse to wake up and see that we need to change the direction this Mayor is directing us. She will say that…well you know I got 60% of the vote and so on and so on. I say she got 60% of what? Not 60% of the registered voters, not 60% of the citizen that live here and certainly not 60% of those that do live here that and are trying to make a living here.
